John was introduced to many tales about his grandmother's family, The Pearsons, who originated from Silver Creek in Brendletown. John's family tree includes Pearsons, Caldwells, Tates and more.

John lived in Burke County for several years, advancing his career in Industrial Electronics. Now retired, he lives in Wilmington and enjoys fishing, gardening, remodeling, and motorcycle restoration.
